Announcement: Cancer Foundation Finland Prize

The Cancer Foundation Finland announces for the first time the Cancer Foundation Finland Prize open for applications. The purpose of the prize is to promote population-based cancer registration and related epidemiological research in India, in its states and union territories.

The criteria of the prize is the quality of epidemiological research or the impact of developmental work on cancer control.

The prize will be awarded on the basis of
a) documented development work in cancer registration conducted during the years 2014, 2015 or 2016 or
b) a research report on cancer epidemiology published in 2014, 2015 or 2016.

The prize can be awarded to an individual or an institution. An applicant can apply for him-/herself (or the institution that he/she represents) or nominate another person or institution for the prize. The same person or institution can be involved in only one application at a time.

The prize is a research grant of 5000 euros and it is awarded every three to five years. The same person or research group can receive the prize only once in a lifetime.

The one-page application should be accompanied by a research report (an article published in a peer-reviewed journal) or a report on development work (max 3 pages, in English) mentioned above.

The application time opens on June 1st 2017. The applications are sent to prize@cancer.fi or to

Cancer Foundation Finland, PRIZE, Unioninkatu 22, FI-00130 Helsinki, Finland by July 31st 2017. The award winner will be nominated by the Board of the Cancer Foundation on November 14th, 2017.
